Catholicosate of Cilicia Concerned by Actions Against Church

The Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia expresses deep concern regarding the encroachments by the high-ranking authorities of the RA against the church. This is stated in a declaration adopted at the online session of the "Cilicia" analytical platform, which took place under the chairmanship of His Holiness Aram I. The assembly first heard a report on the conference held in Bern dedicated to the preservation of the spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh.

Various initiatives undertaken in Switzerland for the protection of Artsakh's rights were discussed. In particular, the formation of a parliamentary commission calling for dialogue between representatives of Artsakh and Azerbaijan was emphasized. In this context, the importance of the legal significance of the continued functioning of Artsakh's state structures was reaffirmed.

The participants of the assembly expressed deep concern about the atmosphere created by the authorities' publications regarding high-ranking clergy in Armenia. They considered the raising and discussion of issues in this manner, which creates internal societal tension, unacceptable.
