Beijing-Washington negotiations have started in London

Trade negotiations between the US and China have commenced in London. The US has announced its readiness to lift export restrictions in response to assurances from China about easing restrictions on the supply of rare earth minerals.

After the trade truce reached in Geneva, the Trump administration expected China to lift the restrictions on these minerals. However, Beijing had decided not to back down. China controls 90% of the global processing of rare earth elements.
