Alen Simonyan has given consent to the prosecution of MPs

National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan has given consent to the motion of Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan to initiate public criminal prosecution against Seyran Ohanyan and Artsvik Minasyan.

According to the motion, Seyran Ohanyan, during his years as Minister of Defense, seized a 10,526 sq.m. plot of land in the Dzoraghbyur community, which was state property, and built a private house in the absence of construction rights. In addition, Ohanyan concealed information about the private house actually belonging to him in his declarations.

In another episode, Ohanyan received a bribe of 58 million drams. According to the Prosecutor General's motion, Artsvik Minasyan, while holding the post of Minister of Nature Protection, actually ensured the further unhindered possession and use of the private house in the area seized by Seyran Ohanyan, which was state property.
